Aayirthil Oruvan:-
We were to watch the movie on the first day but thanks to one good friend of mine who informed me that the movie was running on a black ticket of 500Rs for a Balcony. I was pleasantly surprised since "Avatar" ran on a black ticket for not more than 300Rs. Well times are changing thats what I thought to myself.
Though missed to watch the movie on the first day I did manage to find another theatre where a non-black ticket awaited me with my friends being the first to be at the counter. You got it right there were not many people in the theatre. This is when my doubts about the review of the much-awaited movie by Selvaraghavan on a movie site sparked. Neverthless we bought a Balcony ticket (Which is usually not us , cos we prefer to watch a movie amongst the local masses in the Gandhi seat..:)). Trust me boys the theatre did not occupy more than 10% of the seating capacity.
Movie starts with a very few faint whistles. With Dashing MANLY Reema sen (Sorry to all Reema Sen fans but I feel she got her fathers hormones more), then is the entry of a fine looking Andrea who seldom speaks. The best part of the movie is Karthi's entry with some volley of censored very foul Tamil adjectives along with the remix version of Puraichi thalaivar MGR's "Ado anda Paraivi" Song was really enterrtaining, I was literally swinging my head and tapping my feet with the rythm.
Three leads along with a battalion of soldiers set off to the jungle in search of Andrea's Archelogist father who was lost while trying to study the remains of the Chola kingdom. The events in the movie follow so, First encounter is a jelly fish type creature which attack and kill many soldiers while crossing river. Next come the black coloured Savages hundreds of them actually who come in as though they were here for a guest appearence the only role they got is of watchmen to the jungle the trio are supposed to enter. Immediately after entering the jungle there is a camping session and here comes Guest appearence number-2 but this time with a little longer role of some Red coloured hooligans who eventually die of bullet shots thanks to Reema Sen's heroic gun shooting. Well if you are guessing what Karthi is doing he is trying to impress Andrea throughout the first half of the movie. But it is Reema sen who gives some entertainment with her skin show.:). After the interval our trio's after a brief fight with a million of venomous snakes are able to make it to the Chola kingdom remains where they turn mad due to the curse attached with the place.
I know you must be thinking that I am boring you guys by making you read so long, but pity on me think about us how we watched the movie?
There is a big revelation that happens about Reema Sen's identity who actually belongs to the Pandyan blood line who were in their times of existence against the Chola's, trying to take revenge from the chola kingdom Reema Sen does some "Menaka act" to seduce Parthipan who looks as unfitting as his attire and manages to do so thanks to some really raunchy moves by Reema. I really dont want to write more because I really don't remember and am not going to take the pain of watching it again.
Please let me know you comments in case you differ with my understanding. There are some really bold scenes by Reema Sen like pretending to be attending nature's calls. You will for sure remember the movie atleast for these scenes.
The final screen hints towards “Aayirthil Oruvan –II”(I am not sure though well check for yourself) and when that happens I am going to sit at home and wait till some local channel plays it on cable.
My final verdict is that “ Aayirthil Oruvan “is like a Bed time story written in a hurry with no pity for the poor producer.
