When we want them to be healthier

Why stuff them with Pizza and Burger,

When we call them our future

Why distant them from our mother nature,

When we want them to innovate

Why ignore Traditional mind games- known to be so innate

What are we saying?

Long long ago but not so long ago children’s were meant to be children’s, playing in the grounds, walking under the trees, and eating the natural nutritious food. But over a period of time due to the ever changing civilization things like these are now slowly dwindling, no more do our kids enjoy the way our earlier generations did, innocence has now been snatched away by the ever growing  violence being telecasted by the warring T.V channels for higher TRP ratings.

Due to the heavily loaded curriculum of schools, children’s no more read for pleasure but do so due to Pressure. It is hard to see their imagination being guarded by the toxically painted walls of our homes rather than in the natural greens. With so many fast food outlets and tasty junk foods, nutritious requirement has ended up being portrayed on the walls of clinics and hospitals. The air that we breathe has now become a cocktail of pollutants emitted from the vehicles that swarm on the roads.

Whom do we blame for all of this? Blame games are never ending. But what we still have in our hands is to create opportunities for kids to play and learn like we did.

What have we brought for you?

We are conducting a Marathon drive for Children from the age group of 07 – 13 years on dd-mon-yyyy  to educate them with the right way of living, with a more playful and practical approach we have planned the following activities for children’s spanning over 4 hours.

The Activities include:

v  1-1.5 Km (Start point: ? End point:?)

v  Drawing Competition – Theme-Nature(Sheets will be provided)

v  Planting Trees

Following Exhibits for children’s

Ø  Free Bullock Cart Rides

Ø  Informative exhibits about nutritious foods

Ø  Traditional Musical instruments on display

Ø  Work shop from National geographic Channel

Ø  Exhibits on Traditional Games

Other Facilities

Ø  Drinking water will be provided at the venue

Ø  Milk,Biscuits,Glucose to be provided as compliments

Ø  Toilet Facilities present at the venue

Ø  200 volunteers to manage the cause

Ø  Counters will be available based on the allotted groups

Ø  Ambulance service at the spot

Who are we?

 “The Shankara Rotary Library” was founded in the wake of 1995 jointly by Shankar Mathand Sri Sringeri Sharadha Peetham , inaugurated by the then residing honorable Governor of Karnataka Mr. Khurshed Alam Khan. Since our existence with an intention to inculcate the habit of reading amongst children’s  of all ages in the most innate manner, we have been procuring books of all categories from Children’s Rhyme books to Books on the latest evolving technologies. Our inventory has been further scaled up by the kind hearted children and adults together who have donated books to our library regularly. All of this is evident by the vast collection of books counting up to NNNNNNN as of today, maintained in an organized manner on our comfortably accessible racks.

With a fruitful stint of association from “Hippocampus” (www.hippocampus.in) we included more activities to our Library, where children’s could participate and learn through the activities they take part in. From the silence of storytelling, the creativity in Clay modeling, mind boggling traditional board games, to the basics of computer knowledge we have been providing all the activities that would keep the children actively involved in what they learn. We also conduct Painting classes, Creative writing classes, Short Plays, Dancing competition and many more activities tailored for he overall development for children’s.

Please visit our campus with your children and you will find out that we are not just a library with racks of books, pooling tables, comfortable bean bags, prominently pleasant yellow tables and screens, including the aura of Divinity sprayed on all our walls but also a place that children would love to spend their time learning while playing. Our Ambience will make you feel the emotions involved with a Childs growth just the way they were meant to be.
